Our Story
The story of Central Texas Beauty College started with a local family that has owned and operated the beauty schools for over 30 years. Our story, our ties to our communities, and our care for students have driven this school to success for many years. Central Texas Beauty College was established over 60 years ago in Waco, Texas. Mr. Robert Painter was the Director and Owner of Central Texas Beauty College since 1983. Mr. Painter opened a campus in Temple, Texas in 1984 and in Round Rock, Texas in 1991. He was in the beauty business since 1940 and his family continues to run Central Texas Beauty College today.
Our schools have been around a long time, but that doesn’t make us old. It means we’ve learned the right way to educate and train our students for a lifetime of success in the field of cosmetology. Our educators stay on the cutting edge of all the latest styles & trends.
Our Standards
Central Texas Beauty College offers the Cosmetology and Manicuring courses. The courses at both campuses have been approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Central Texas Beauty College is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS) and approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
We are proud to be a Milady RISE Partner School. We commit to cover critical topics with our students such as Domestic Abuse and Human Trafficking Awareness. All of our students will leave here certified in Client Well-Being and Safety, ready to protect public health, make an impact on the community, and give a voice to the most vulnerable.

How do we do it?
It’s simple – and really hard! Our students pass the state exams because they are prepared. We train our students so they know the content, and we test our students internally to make sure they know the state requirements before heading in to that room to take their tests. That means our students take their tests with confidence, knowing they are ready to pass their exams and move on to their professional careers.

Our Curriculum
Central Texas Beauty College will teach you using the leading textbooks of the Cosmetology profession, the Milady Standard Cosmetology, Manicuring, and Master Educator textbooks. Central Texas Beauty College will furnish you with the most current version of these textbooks. Our busy clinic floor provides a great deal of hands-on training as you are perfecting your skills, and your instructors are with you every step of the way.
Excellence is achieved at Central Texas Beauty College. Not only will you become a licensed Cosmetologist or Manicurist when you pass the state exam, but at Central Texas Beauty College, you will also have the opportunity to receive certifications in spa facials, makeup, ear candling, and gel nails using a variety of high-end professional products for maximum marketability. There is no additional charge for certification in these subjects. Your resume will be very impressive with these certificates, opening the door to many of the best salons.
Central Texas Beauty College also offers a business development program, instructing you on everything from creating a resume to interviewing, to effectively marketing your services. You will be taught methods and strategies to build your clientele and a professional portfolio, and above all, your income potential.
